OSHER REENTRY SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAM at UCSC In 2005, Services for Transfer and Re-Entry Students (STARS) at the University of California Santa Cruz was invited to apply for, and honored to receive, a Bernard Osher Foundation grant of $50,000. This funding established the OSHER REENTRY SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAM that provided $5,000 scholarships to ten deserving re-entry students for the academic year. The Osher Foundation not only renewed the $50,000 grant 2006-07 but also generously endowed the scholarship in perpetuity with a gift of one million dollars. In addition to these gifts in 2006, the foundation provided a $50,000 bridge grant to cover year three.
