STARS provides the extra academic and personal support that transfer, and re-entry students may need to benefit fully from their education at UCSC, whether they are full-or part-time. STARS is here to assist students with their pre-admissions questions, transition concerns, academic support network, and post graduation planning. Students will find drop-in assistance from professional staff members and other resources.
Transfer students are defined as someone who has completed college courses prior to coming to UC Santa Cruz and generally do not enter the University as a freshman.
Re-entry students are defined as undergraduates twenty-five years and older, graduate students twenty-nine and over, students who have had a substantial break in their formal education, military veterans, and all students who are also parents.
Readmitted students have been previously admitted to UCSC and are returning after absences. Readmitted students who meet the above STARS criteria are also encouraged to utilize STARS services.
